The conventional package material for food & beverage cup are mainly PP (poly-Propylene), EPS (Expand Polystyrene), and PET + PP (Laminated), paper, among them, PET excels in the property of sanitary stability, recycling and high barrier.
Problem of the existing PET cup
PET cup is conventionally pressure-formed into deep drown type with extruded sheet. However, characteristics of sheet forming process causes almost fifty percentage (50%) of overall sheet dimension used in its forming process to turn into scrapped materials, which have been partly recycled, or re-sold at low price. But such recycling is somewhat limited due to its insufficient strength (molecular depreciation) and transparency.
